About MFHA
In 2008, after the completion of the new strategic plan, MFHA will focus its energy and resources on achieving two objectives:
- Driving Multicultural Talent to the Industry
- Building an Industry Specific Resource Bank to Develop Talent
MFHA was founded in 1996 to promote the economic benefits of diversity in the foodservice and hospitality industry.
The organization focused its efforts on promoting workforce diversity, multicultural customer marketing, community outreach, and supplier diversity with companies from all segments of the food and lodging industry.
Our Founder
Gerald A. "Gerry" Fernandez, Sr., is President and Founder of the Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance (MFHA), a national non-profit think tank which promotes the economic benefits of diversity and inclusion in the foodservice and hospitality.
Gerry serves on the board of the National Restaurant Association as an industry representative and is a member of the Compass Diversity Council. He is a past board member of La Oportunidad of St. Paul, Minnesota and Urban Ventures Leadership Foundation of Minneapolis. He is an active member of the Women's Foodservice Forum, the American Culinary Federation and is a founding member of the Research Chefs Association.
