The Politics of Promotion is a hands-on, interactive workshop, that will help attendees gain awareness and insights into how politics affect their career advancement. This session will explore the nature and affect of workplace politics and will provide attendees with strategies and tactics to leverage workplace politics when trying to get to the next level in their careers. Attendees will also have an opportunity to hear stories of real life political encounters from a panel following the speaker presentation.


Attendees will learn:

  • How to identify and define political situations

  • What politics look like in action

  • How to become engaged and involved in politics at the workplace

  • How to better manage political circumstances

About the Speaker

rogers

Rogercarole Rogers brings a broad and varied level of experience to the practice of inclusion, diversity and human resource management.


She is the President of RcRogers & Associates, a human resources, inclusion and diversity consulting firm specializing in workshop training and development of strategic approaches to manage human capital. Prior to establishing her own firm, Rogercarole was a Principal in the human resources consulting firm of Houston-Rogers Consulting.


Her list of clients include McDonald’s Corporation, the Colorado Department of Public Health, The National Restaurant Association, The Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance and the American College of Healthcare Executives. In her consulting practice, Rogercarole has developed diversity and inclusion train the trainer workshops and is on the faculty of the Leadership Training Conservatory, where she aides leaders in increasing their abilities to guide their diverse organizations.


Rogercarole was employed by McDonald’s Corporation for over 20 years where she was involved in human resource initiatives such as employment image and employment branding as well as inclusion and diversity programs that included employment of people with disabilities, older workers and development of school to career programs. Her workshops have assisted hundreds of McDonald’s employees better understand and plot their course from Restaurant Management into and through middle management and on to upper management in McDonald’s.
